The two most popular types of pressure washers in North America are electric drive and gas drive. Electric motors are popular for residential use due to their quieter operation and ease of maintenance. Gas-powered motors are preferred for heavy-duty tasks and commercial use. Most popular models range from 2,000 to 4,000 psi pressure rating and 2 to 4 US gpm flow rate.   

If cared for properly, the engines & motors typically outlast the pump and can easily be made like new by replacing the pump, which is not difficult, especially with direct drives.

5.5-6.5 hp Engines

Compatible with ¾″ horizontal shafts, this triplex pump makes for a sweet upgrade over axial pumps compatible with the same shaft size. 11-13 hp Engines

If you or your customer has an 11-13 hp horizontal shaft engine, then Canpump CF 4040G is our most popular replacement pump. As is par for the course with all our pumps, this one too comes with top-notch build quality featuring a brass head, anodized aluminum body and ceramic coated pistons. It produces 4,000 psi pressure with a 4 US gpm flow rate when mated with a 1-inch shaft 13 hp engine. This pump also comes with an extended bypass unloader.
